Yara Darwesh

I’m from Aleppo, Syria. I lost my leg in an accident. I was provided with a limb back there in Aleppo but it was not that good and it hurt me a lot. We had to come to Kurdistan and we were settled in one of the refugee camps. The director of the camp helped us to contact and then reach to Mr. Sarko who is the head of Toward a New Life Organization. When I first saw Mr. Sarko, I didn’t know that both his legs were prostheses. He told me how he lost his legs, I was so shocked that I forgot about my griefs. Then he humbly promised to help me get a brand, new well-fitted limb. A professional team arrived from the United States of America for the purpose of helping me some other people with same need. They took necessary measurements. Finally, the good news came and I was granted my new limb for free. This could have been one of the most exciting things ever happened to me, I can’t put my happiness gratefulness in words.
