Towardnewlife report about the last six months

of July-Dec- 2019

I started to see the children at the beginning of July. A lot of children were waiting, so I had to dedicate every Sunday to meet, listen and talk to a group of them at a time, many of them were coming from other cities including the southern part of Iraq. Most of the kids were in need of special chairs, standing chair and other walking aids, so we did our best to make as many kids as possible get benefit from our programs. There were so many old or broken chairs that we repaired and gave it to those children who needed it most. Although we had financial problems, we managed to make the utmost use of what we had in order to make the disabled kids get benefit as much as possible. When the kids were brought to our office, I would do some simple evaluations to see how hard their conditions were and to know about their families' awareness. The number of the children that I have seen during the past six months is a lot more if compared to the previous years ; roughly I have seen 400 kids during only the second half of the current year of 2019.

After meeting their parents, I start evaluating the children's condition so that I can help them and do whatever I can to help them. First, I teach them how to sit in a proper way. Then I show them how to stand and walk. Physiotherapy is extremely important for children with special needs; the more they practice the more their muscles become strong and be away from contractions. We have been able to help 48 children to go back to school or kindergarten

,                                                                                                After I had promised them to provide them prosthetic limbs, I took each of Koyan Hoshmand Sirwan, 16 years Old Zanyar Karaman, 17Years Old Mustaf Bahman 4 Years Old and Salah Salih 22 Years Old to Diarbakir for that purpose. Dr John, who is a specialist in the field, started his work by taking necessary measurements. After receiving the limbs, I trained them to get used to the limbs and walk with no difficulties

Another activity of our organization was collecting gifts for children who had cancer, we were able to provide 100 presents for those kids who were the patients of Nanakaly Hospital\Erbil. I always give the kids warm hugs and tell them the story of my life to

Confirm that people with special needs should be respected not pitied. We all have to try to make life better and more beautiful in order to build a healthy community in the future. Receiving an honorary gift from the General Directorate of Social Development and Welfare\Sulimani in the presence of a good audience after I had told my life's story

Meeting with WHO. I talked about Toward a New Life Organization, told my life's story. Then I shared them some data about our activities and how many kids are in desperate need of help to get back to their normal life in the community. We agreed to have continuous meetings in the future to be able to offer more help to the disabled people with the help of foreign organizations.

Presenting seminars and meetings at primary and high schools, starting with my life-story. Then I was talking about people with special needs to raise the students' awareness about this special layer in the community and change the students' point of view from pitying to respecting the disabled people. After playing a short video about the objectives of my activities, the students were showing their admiration and they were visiting the disabled people to aprove that they were respecting them. I have been able to leave impact 'to a good extent' on people of different ages through my seminars and gatherings. I have been asked to present seminars at universities for the same purpose.

I met with the minister of health of Kurdistan Regional Government Dr. Saman. After providing him with minute statistics of the children with special needs in Kurdistan, he hoped that there would be more cooperation between us to offer more help to children with special needs

I want to ask officials in KRG, organizations and rich people to help us so that, in return, we will be able to provide those children.
