At the beginning of July, we started our activities by offering a summer course with the help of some volunteers who work as social researchers, psychotherapists and physiotherapists. We could help a great deal of children make use of our course. The kids were at home and their disabilities were cerebral palsy and they were physically pretty weak. One of the families of those kids said that they had been pretty sad before visiting our organization’s office because nobody got to know about our child. Beside providing our daughter whose name is (Awezan) with primary needs, he helped us to relief. Now we are so much better, so is our daughter. We want to thank Mr Sarko and his organization and appreciate for all his efforts. Also we want to ask other organizations to help us without any distinctions between the disabled children.
Our next step was repairing the broken wheelchairs. We distributed the repaired ones, plus some new ones, on those children who needed them most. The total was 73 wheelchairs. We also provided some crutches for some disabled children.
I had the honor to visit the minister of health of KRG. I asked him to provide an electrocardiogram for our city hospital because there are 250 children in the city with cardiac diseases and they can not afford to have a cardiac echo because it costs them 25 thousand Iraqi dinars each time.
I had the chance to meet the chairman of Barzani Charity Organization. I talked about our organization and the nature of our activities. We agreed to be in touch to be able to serve disabled children more efficiently.
We have been able to collect and distribute more than 300 pieces of toys on disabled children to encourage the soul of cooperation among the kids.
Our last activity for the past year was on Dec 25, we could provide 60 dozens of diapers for those families who have disabled children. We also provided some other disabled people with crutches. I had to give my old prosthetic legs to Halabja Center for Prosthetic limbs Production because they were in need of spare parts to mend old ones.
